White House turns down people for tours

WASHINGTON (WFIE) - Tours of the White House on Saturday were canceled until further notice meaning the White House will remained closed to the public indefinitely.

The Obama Administration announced earlier in the week it would stop tours because of federal spending cuts.

The administrative says the Secret Service made the decision to save weekly overtime costs.

But closing the White House doors has left tens of thousands of ticket holders out in the cold.

Although the White House is closed, the United States Capitol is still open for public tours.
