HAWESVILLE, KY - Authorities say a Kentucky high school student faces charges relating to child pornography Thursday after the Kentucky State Police received a complaint from Hancock County School officials.

Trevor Kade Wilcox, 18, is charged with 10 counts of promoting a minor under 16 in sex performance, a Class B Felony and 75 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a Minor, Class D Felony. Wilcox was released from jail on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Wilcox was arrested at his home after police performed a forensic exam of his iPad.

The Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force launched an investigation into the possession and promoting of images of child sexual exploitation from Wilcox's school assigned iPad.

The investigation began when officials from Hancock County High School confiscated his iPad. The iPad, which belonged to Hancock County High School, was held because of suspected illegal activity.

School authorities then notified the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.

Detectives seized evidence that was being used to reportedly distribute child pornography and taken to the Kentucky State Police forensic laboratory for further examination.

The Kentucky State Police is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
