WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick says the sheriff's office and the Illinois State Fire Marshall are investigating a house fire that happened in the Lake of Egypt area on Thursday.

Around 9:45 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in a residence in the Lake of Egypt area.  Initial reports were the resident's disabled adult daughter might have been trapped in the residence.

The Lake of Egypt Fire Department was dispatched, as well as Williamson County and Marion Fire Departments.  Lake of Egypt Ambulance was also dispatched, along with Lifeline Ambulance and the Air-Evac LifeTeam.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned the disabled adult daughter had been rescued from the fire by her stepfather.

The mother and adult daughter were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The Illinois State Fire Marshall and Williamson County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the fire.

Crews had the fire under control within an hour.
