Sheriff Bennie Vick says the sheriff's office and the Illinois State Fire
Marshall are investigating a house fire that happened in the Lake of Egypt area on Thursday.
Around 9:45 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a
structure fire in a residence in the Lake of Egypt area. Initial reports were
the resident's disabled adult daughter might have been trapped in the
residence.
The Lake of Egypt Fire
Department was dispatched, as well as Williamson County and Marion Fire
Departments. Lake of Egypt Ambulance was also dispatched, along with
Lifeline Ambulance and the Air-Evac LifeTeam.
Upon arrival,
firefighters learned the disabled adult daughter had been rescued from the fire
by her stepfather.
The mother and adult
daughter were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The Illinois State Fire
Marshall and Williamson County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the fire.
