A late winter storm packing up to 10 inches of snow sent officials into weather-hardened Chicago into action Tuesday to prevent a repeat of scenes from two years ago, when hundreds of people in cars and buses were stranded on the city's marquee thoroughfare during a massive blizzard.

The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce announced today they endorse Gov. Jay Nixon's plan to expand Medicaid. Nixon has spent weeks convincing Missourians his plan is the best way to make sure Missouri money isn't given to other states as part of the Affordable Health Care Act. Christy Millweard talked to Chamber President John Mehner, and will bring you more tonight at 10.

A man charged with murder appeared in court Tuesday for an arraignment. Curtis Smith is accused of the murder of Kristi Murphy in November 2012 at the Micro Tel Inn.

The Illinois House has approved a series of measures that would ban semi-automatic assault weapons in Illinois. One amendment approved Tuesday would make it a felony for anyone to possess a military-style assault weapon or to have large-capacity ammunition magazines.
