A new study published by the University of Cambridge's Center for Family Research shows that kids adopted by same-sex parents are at no disadvantage.
The study compared British gay, lesbian and heterosexual households with children ages 4-8.
The findings showed that the family life within those studied was essentially the same, regardless of the parents' sexual orientation, according to The Independent.
Researchers also found that the sexual orientation of a child's parent does not necessarily mean that child will be bullied in school and results from the study showed that the 'vast majority' of children were not bullied at all.
However, those who performed the study warn that as children get older, bullying gets worse.
That means high school-aged students with gay parents may face a higher chance of being bullied at school. However, experts say it's hard to know if that would be that case without further studies.
