Police warn of phone fraud making rounds in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

The Poplar Bluff Police Department says they have gotten a number of reports of alleged phone fraud.

The incidents include a caller's claims to be a debt collector or a person who tells others over the phone they have won a lottery or sweepstakes. 

Police say if these alleged criminals contact you, hang up.  If they call back, don't answer their calls or talk with them.  If the calls persist, contact your phone carrier to ask have the number blocked.
