Memorial honors victims of Harrisburg tornado

HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) -

The community of Harrisburg gathered together Friday afternoon to honor the lives of those lost in last year's deadly leap-day tornado.

A memorial was unveiled honoring the eight people who died in the storm.

Taps was played and there was a 21-gun salute.

Harrisburg's Mayor Eric Gregg spoke about that day, and thanked so many for their help in the days and months that followed.

Harrisburg wasn't the only community affected.

Saint's Church in Ridgway was ripped open by the storm. In Missouri, the storm caused damage from Stoddard to Cape Girardeau County.
