FULTON COUNTY, GA (WBTV) -
A Georgia woman has filed a paternity lawsuit against NBA legend and Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan.
According to court documents obtained by WBTV, the paternity suit was filed February 6th in Fulton County, Georgia.
Pamela Smith of Atlanta filed the lawsuit, requesting a hearing.
According to The Associated Press, Smith wants Jordan to take a paternity test, pay child support, and share medical, dental, and hospital costs not covered by insurance.
The AP also reports Smith wants her son's last name changed to Jordan, and requests a judge to order the Georgia Department of Vital Records to issue him a new birth certificate.
Court documents show a Domestic Relations 30-Day Scheduling Conference on Tuesday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
Jordan's publicist told the AP Jordan has no comment. Calls to Smith's home and office have not yet been returned.
In a video posted on YouTube on December 25, 2012, a man by the name of Taj Jordan said he was the secret son of the NBA legend.
"I feel like everybody should know," he said in video. "It's true," he said about the rumors that he was Jordan's son.
"The reason I'm making this video is because I want, I feel like y'all should know, and I feel like he should be more in my life about it, too" he said. "Cuz if I was somebody's dad I would want to be in my kid's life, ya feel me?"
In the video, Taj says he wants Michael Jordan to come out of the dark and "stop being secretive about it."
Taj says Jordan knows that they are related and claims that he and Jordan have met and talked.
"I just want him to be more in my life," Taj said in the video.
