3 face burglary, drug charges after iPad stolen

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Three people are accused of stealing an iPad from a McCracken County business.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department began investigating a theft from 146 South Friendship Road on Feb. 5.

A woman had stopped and asked for financial assistance. Once she left, she and two other people devised a plan to re-enter the building and take an iPad that was spotted in the office, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance video caught the theft on camera.

A Paducah police officer contacted the sheriff's office saying he was familiar with the suspects in the video and provided their names and address.

Jessica Myers, Sabian Burgard, and Sinjin Burgard, all living at 600 Broadway, apartment # 413 (Irvin Cobb Apartments) face charges.

Jessica L. Myers, 20, is charged with complicity to burglary 3rd, complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $500, and failure to notify department of transportation of an address change.

Sabian T. Burgard, 19, is charged with complicity to burglary 3rd, complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $500, and failure to notify department of transportation of an address change.

Sinjin H. Burgard, 19, is charged with burglary 3rd, theft by unlawful taking over $500, and failure to notify department of transportation of an address change.

Detectives searched the suspects' apartment Tuesday, Feb. 19 and found a small quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and evidence of the stolen iPad.

Further investigation revealed that the iPad had been sold, but confessions were obtained from all three individuals for burglary and theft of the iPad, according to the sheriff's office.

All three were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
