I-55 crash, lawmakers want prison changes, missing man mystery

The northbound lanes of Interstate 55 are shut down after a head on crash just south of Portageville in Pemiscot County after 3 p.m. today.

The latest series of incidents at Illinois state prisons have lawmakers pleading with the governor to find a solution. Just in the last month, there have been two separate lockdowns with one involving the death of an inmate and another an attack on two guards and a chaplain. Allison Twaits talked to a local lawmaker about why he says changes need to be made before more problems erupt.
