Body of man found in vehicle at Shawnee National Forest identified

POPE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Illinois State Police are investigating after a body was found in rural Pope County Sunday afternoon.

The body of 55-year-old William P. Foley III of Downers Grove, Ill. was found in his vehicle on Feb. 17 in the Shawnee National Forest in Pope County.

Autopsy results are pending; but ISP say no foul play is suspected at this time.

Foley was reported missing to police in Downers Grove on February 7, 2013.

Sheriff Jerry Suits isn't releasing additional details about the case, including where Foley's body was found and why he may have been in Pope County.

Pope County is roughly a six-hour drive from suburban Chicago.

Services for Foley will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle.

Foley had been reported missing Feb. 8, two days after he was last seen leaving his job in Lombard.
