
Marland Smith had a career night leading the Southeast Missouri State men's basketball team to a 77-64 win against Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
Smith had a season-high 29 points to lead everyone in scoring. He tied the Southeast record for three pointers made, hitting nine out of 15. A.J. Jones finished with a double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Lucas Nutt dished out a game-high 10 assists.
The Panthers Alex Austin led the team with 16 points shooting 70 percent for the game. Taylor Jones scored seven points and lead the team with six assists.
Southeast is now 13-13 overall and 5-7 in OVC play. The Redhawks will next play at UT Martin on Feb. 16.
