This week's I-Team report begins here in Cape Girardeau and ends about 8 hours away in Johnson City, Tennessee. That's where 19 year old Cape native Ashli Ayers went in the spring of 2004.
Just two months later, a man would discover her body in the basement of his rental home. Ashli's mom, Robin Drum, she recalls what police said about the man who found Ashli's body.
"That he had just rented the place and that he had found her, but they didn't think that there was any kind of connection."
The man who found Ashli, Oadis White, is currently in prison right now for murdering his girlfriend.
And Ashli isn't the only young woman whose suspicious death can be somehow connected to Oadis White.
