CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -
Cape Girardeau police are investigating a robbery at the Cape Regional Credit Union Wednesday afternoon.
Not many details are available, but the suspect is not in custody.
This happened after 3 p.m. at the Cape Regional Credit Union at 2427 Cape Center Drive.
Several Cape Girardeau police officers and the K-9 unit were on the scene. The FBI were on the scene investigating, as well.
Police say a male suspect handed a note to one of the tellers demanding money. He indicated that he had a gun, but no one reportedly saw it. The suspect fled westbound from the scene on foot toward Broadview. Police say the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a young African-American male wearing all dark clothing with a hooded jacket. He is tall and has a slender build.
Police say no suspects are in custody and the case is still under investigation.
There were at least seven state patrol cars on the scene shortly after the robbery.
Police made sure everyone inside was okay before collecting evidence. They confirm no one was hurt inside the bank.
Police and FBI were looking at security surveillance from the neighboring Social Security building.
The same credit union was robbed on Aug. 3, 2012.
