CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Five-year-old twin sisters, Aurora and Selena Mares are donating their hair to Locks of Love in honor of their kindergarten teacher who recently died of cancer.

Mrs. Marilyn Eiceman of Marion was their teacher at Washington Elementary School.

According to family members, the girls loved their teacher a great deal and want to help others who are ill.

They got their hair cut at Salon 13 in Carbondale on Saturday, February 2 at Noon.

Locks of Love has a minimum donation requirement of 8" of hair. The girls donated 10" of hair.

Salon owner Scott Brown will put the cut hair a bag and send it to a donation center.
