WILLIAMSVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Conservation is searching for whoever may have shot a bald eagle in Wayne County.
A landowner with property on County Road 417 about 1/4 mile south of Hwy. 49 near Williamsville reported an injured immature bald eagle on his property on Jan. 30.
The eagle was taken to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for treatment, but it died that night.
The bird had been shot.
Bald eagles are protected by both state and federal laws.
