CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

More information is coming forward about a crash that shut down a portion of Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau Tuesday night.

Officers say a tractor-trailer jack-knifed during the storm, and a passenger car drove under that trailer.

The driver of the car, Associate Circuit Judge Scott Lipke, says he feels lucky to be alive.

"I've got my Bible here, I think there was some divine intervention for sure, and I fully believe that," said Judge Scott Lipke. "I had my Bible in the front passenger seat and looking at it, it still has the shards of glass from the windshield that was on there."

Both northbound lanes were closed in the area for a while as crews worked to clear the scene.
