PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Cave-In-Rock ferry and the Dorena-Hickman ferry have halted operations due to high winds.
According to a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson, the Cave-In-Rock ferry shut down about 1:30 p.m., CST, today, and will remain closed until winds drop enough to allow the ferry to operate safely.
Captain Ed Floyd expects the Doreana-Hickman to be able to reopen to traffic on Thursday morning. It also closed at 1:30 p.m.
The Cave-In-Rock Ferry connects KY 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, Kentucky and Hardin County, Illinois.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.
