Jimmy Dimora has a new home. The former Cuyahoga County Commissioner will servehis 28 year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Gilmer which is located in Glenville, West Virginia. He had been housed since his conviction at a private prison in Youngstown. Dimora got the longest sentence of the more than 60 people convicted in the county corruption investigation. His crimes included racketeering and corruption involving bribes from contractors wanting to win contracts with Cuyahoga County.
Dimora, 57, has been staying at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center, a private federal prison in Youngstown, since he was sentenced last summer to 28 years in prison for racketeering and corruption-related charges.
The city of Glenville is located some 200 miles from Cleveland and is about 85 miles northeast of Charleston, W.Va. There is a prison camp and a prison on the site. Because of the length of Dimora's sentence he is not eligible to be housed at the camp so will be in the more restrictive setting. The Bureau of Prison's web site does not indicate if Dimora has already been moved or will be moved shortly.
