MARION, IL (KFVS) -

Doctors say it's never too late to get the flu shot. But, when there's none to give out, that's when you start running into problems.

Because of the recent outbreak, the demand for flu shots has gone above what's actually available.

This means more people are taking the advice of doctors, and one local health department says they're almost fresh out.

With only a limited supply of the flu vaccine for children 6 to 35 months old left, the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department says if you're still wanting one, you might just have to go a little farther to get it.

"There is no shortage of flu shots anywhere. We do have a limited supply," said the Director of Health Education for the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department. "We do have that vaccine available to those six to 35 months old right now, but certainly no one should panic about where they should get a flu shot."

Now, it's very easy to find a place that would still have the vaccine available.

On the Illinois Department of Public Health Department's website, you can just plug in your zip code and it will show you the closest places that may still have the vaccine.

But it is recommended that you still call before, just in case.
