JOHNSTON CITY, IL (KFVS) -

The victim of a fatal Johnston City, Illinois crash has been identified.

Williamson County Coroner Junior Burke says Allyson Jo Russell, 25, of West Frankfort, Illinois was killed in the crash.

It was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Burke says Russell was northbound on Binkley and failed to negotiate a curve onto Water Street in Johnston City.

Her car ended up in a swollen creek bed traveling 1/8 mile down the creek and became submerged in 12-foot of water.

An investigation is continuing by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, Johnston City Police and the coroner's office.
