Good afternoon! Several businesses closed and at one point there were around 2,000 customers without power due to a winter snow storm that hit the Heartland overnight. We'll have team coverage with the latest starting tonight at 5 p.m.

Bob Reeves says to expect roads to re-freeze tonight with lows in the teens. And, we could see more snow in a couple of days.

National Weather Service meteorologist Dan Spaeth says 8-10 inches of snow is on the ground from Carbondale over to Marion in southern Illinois. Carly O'Keefe is live tonight from Marion with the latest.

Several sports events were canceled due to snow:

-The Bloomfield Christmas Tournament games canceled Wednesday.

-Southeast Missourian Christmas Basketball Tournament postponed until Thursday.

-Also the Show Me Center closed on Wednesday.

-The girls basketball Herrin Holiday Hoops tourney is canceled Wednesday. They will play the day 1 schedule on Thursday.

Kentucky transportation officials say the Dorena-Hickman ferry has been closed for the day.
