WASHINGTON (KFVS) -

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (MO) was reelected Wednesday as Vice Chairman of the U.S. Senate Republican Conference.

"Our nation is facing critical challenges today. I will continue working with my colleagues at the leadership table to advance pro-growth, pro-jobs policies in the United States Senate to help jumpstart our economy and put more people back to work," said Blunt.

According to Blunt's office in Washington, the lawmaker was nominated by Sen. Jeff Sessions (AL) and seconded by Sen. Johnny Isakson (GA).

According to the SRC, the Conference helps senators communicate their priorities directly to the American people through a wide variety of communications resources; such as, social media, TV, and radio.
