After months of politicking, we now know who our elected leaders will be for the next term. This long political season is finally over. In many cases, candidates waged lengthy, bitter and divisive campaigns.
Folks, we all need to realize one thing-every one of those campaigns ended on Tuesday. They are all over and done with. History. It's time now to get to work. No matter who you supported, who you voted for, it is now time for all of us to come together, look toward the future, and do our part to make our cities, counties, states, and nation a better place. Constant in-fighting and bickering will do nothing to better any of our lots in life. It does not matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican, we are all Americans first and foremost.
Our country faces a myriad of challenges-challenges that require compromise and cooperation. Each community and state has unique issues that need to be addressed and we need to give each and every one of our elected officials an opportunity to do the job they've been elected to do. They represent us and therefore it's important to all of us for all of them to be successful. We cannot spend the next two, four, or six years drawing a line in the sand because our candidate lost. It's time for us all to come together. Let's all make sure we give our newly elected officials the chance to make this a better place.
