HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) -
Now that all the ghost, ghouls and goblins have gone back into hiding, it's time to kickoff the holiday shopping season.
And there's no better place to begin looking for those Christmas gifts then at this year's Heritage Festival in Harrisburg.
More than 100 vendors from across southern Illinois brought out their holiday creations for thousands of shoppers over the past two days.
The festival is as big of an event for the vendors as it is for the bargain hunters."It draws a good crowd," said Lisa Wallace with Stones and Fair Colors Creations. "And with the economy women can make things at home, and they have a venue where they can sell their products and still be at home with their children. Then they can do all their other responsibilities and have a weekend where they can make some money."
"Oh my goodness there's everything," said Brooklyn Nass from Norris City. "There's candles and jewelry, and tutu's, and hair bows and good food! So, just all kinds of things to look at."
This year's heritage festival attracted more vendors then it ever has in its twelve years.
And most of them come from southern Illinois, which helps the local economy by keeping the revenue in the region.
