RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

In Ripley County, prosecutors have filed new charges against the man accused of abducting a 5-year-old girl in Poplar Bluff.

The Ripley County prosecutor filed new charges against Jeffery Dean Shelton on Friday.

The new charges include child molestation and armed criminal action.

Ripley County borders Butler County. That is where Shelton faces charges from the day of the 5-year-old's kidnapping.

He is already accused of four felonies including felonious restraint and child abduction.
