2 men rescued from Kentucky Lake after boat overturns

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Two men were saved by rescue teams after their boat overturned in Kentucky Lake late Friday afternoon in Marshall County, Kentucky.

According to Rescue Squad Chief Curtis Curtner, a wave overturned the boat, dumping the men who were fishing into the water.

He says dispatch got the call around 5 p.m. and Marshall County Rescue called for mutual aid.

Chief Curtner says the men were in the water around 30 minutes before being rescued.

He says both were wearing life jackets. The water was around 63 degrees at the time of rescue.

One man was had mild hypothermia and taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

The other man was checked by EMS, but refused treatment.
