CALVERT CITY, KY (KFVS) -
Two Kentucky women were injured in a head-on car collision.
Lannette N. Nieder, 32, of Grand Rivers, KY and Jessica Rogers, 19, of Paducah, KY were both hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The collision occurred October 25, 2012 at approximately 1:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 62 near Riley Circle, approximately 1 mile west of Calvert City.
The collision happened as Nieder was traveling east in a Chevrolet S-10 pickup on U.S. 62 approaching Calvert City. Rogers was traveling west on U.S 62, driving a Chevrolet Silverado.
Nieder's vehicle drifted across the center line of the roadway and struck Rogers' vehicle head-on.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Rogers was extricated from her vehicle was transported by EMS to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
Nieder was also extricated from her vehicle and was then airlifted by helicopter by PHI to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment of her injuries.
Both women were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Neither vehicle was transporting any passengers.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by Sgt. Mark Balentine of the Marshall Co. Sheriff's Office.
