SEMO to celebrate Homecoming

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri state students and alumni celebrate homecoming Saturday.

The theme of this year's homecoming parade is "G.P.S. - Going Places with Southeast". The annual parade is recognized as one of the largest in the region. The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. in Capaha Park and travels down Broadway to Main Street.

Dozens of marching bands perform and many floats are custom-designed and built by students, primarily Greek fraternities and sororities, and several community organizations.

The parade route will pass by the KFVS Studios.

Carly O'Keefe and Laura Wibbenmeyer will announce the parade for a special webcast of the parade on www.kfvs12.com starting at 9:45 a.m.

KFVS will also webcast the action live from Houck Stadium as the Southeast Redhawks take on the University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks. You can find that webcast on www.kfvs12.com. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

The Homecoming parade and game will wrap up a week of fun-filled events designed to get students, alumni and members of the community revved up with SEMO spirit.
