CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police say one person is dead and another is injured in a shooting early Monday morning in Carlisle County.

Kentucky State Police and the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department responded to 368 KY 80 in Arlington at 12:21 a.m. Monday.

Officers found Mark Muscovalley, 48, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

They also found Monica Muscovalley, 43, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Carlisle County Coroner Steve Freeman calls the murder an attempted murder/suicide.

He says Monica was shot in the leg three times and that she was airlifted to a Nashville hospital for surgery.

Freeman says it appears Mark Muscovalley shot himself.

Freeman says the couple were going through a divorce.

Kentucky State Police are investigating.
