Deanna Dowdy wrote in to YourTurn to last week to address political advertising. She wrote:
This morning I was watching a political ad. I could not help but wonder how it is that when a politician bashes another politician, it is NOT considered bullying? Isn't it the same thing? How do we teach our children NOT to bully another child when that's what they see, all they see these days, on TV? I'm fairly certain that they don't understand the differences between the two and quite frankly, I see no difference at all! Isn't pointing out another's flaws the same thing as being a bully? This isn't how, as adults, we set a positive example and this form of bullying is on national television at that!!!"
Deanna brings some very valid concerns about politics and advertising. What do you think? Let us know here at the station.
