Body of missing man found in southern Illinois identified

WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Authorities say the body of a missing St. Louis man found in southern Illinois last month has been identified.

Kelvin Swingler, 29, of St. Louis was reported missing from St. Louis on August 25 by his mother. His body was found on September 23 on I-64 in Washington County.

Washington County deputies say he was the victim of an apparent homicide.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate this case along with the St. Louis Metro Police Department.

In a separate case, another body was found on Tuesday near I-64.

According to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, state transportation workers were working along Interstate 64 near Oakaville on Tuesday when they found an adult male's body.

The coroner says an autopsy was performed, and the coroner suspects foul play was involved.
