CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -
Southeast Missouri State University has canceled its next two women's soccer games.
SEMO Athletic Director Mark Alnutt says this comes after senior soccer player Meghan Herndon was involved in a scooter crash on September 9.
It happened at the corner of Sprigg and Normal streets. Twenty-one-year-old Southeast Missouri State University senior Meg Herndon's scooter collided with a pick-up truck.
"Her injuries are described as potentially devastating, and she has multiple broken bones," said Cindi Herndon, Meghan's mother told Heartland News last week.
Meg Herndon of Fenton, Missouri is a scholar athlete who has been playing soccer since the age of four, and currently plays for Southeast.
The college senior is also a nursing student, and worked at Southeast Hospital.
SEMO canceled Friday's women's soccer game against UT Martin. That could be rescheduled at a later date.
Sunday's game against Louisiana Tech was also canceled. That game will not be rescheduled.
