CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Well its official, Cape Splash Water Park has gone to the dogs! At least for one day anyway.

Dog owners were invited to bring their dogs Sunday afternoon for fun, and a swim.

A lot of folks, and dogs, turned out for the event. It was a fitting way to close out the season as Cape Splash closed to the public on Labor Day Weekend.

Renee Eddy brought her dog for the first time and enjoyed the day.

"It's just fun seeing all the dogs swimming," said Eddy. "They all interact so good. They all seem very friendly."

All of the proceeds from the day's event go to the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation.
