Police: Woman accused of being on 'bath salts' attacks boyfriend's mom with hammer

PARK HILLS, MO (KFVS) -

Detectives say a St. Francois County woman faces assault charges after allegedly attacking another woman with a hammer.

Rikki Lynn Duncan Shibley was charged with assault first degree- serious physical injury and armed criminal action.

Park Hills Police Det. Mike Kurtz says Shibley was allegedly under the influence bath salts Thursday and attacked another woman with a hammer.

Kurtz says the reported attack happened at a home near Park Hills, Missouri while the other woman was sleeping.

Later that day she was found by police after shining a flashlight at some cars near Front and Olive Streets in Park Hills.

Kurtz says Shibley told police that she had snorted bath salts and had to kill her boyfriend's mother or she would be killed by a group of shadow people.

The victim had moderate injuries and taken to a nearby hospital. The victim is now back home.

Shibley was taken to the St. Francois County Jail. Her bond is set at $150,000 cash only.
