Illinois woman pleads guilty to electronic sex crimes

HARDIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A Hardin County, Illinois, woman has pleaded guilty to using the internet to arrange sex with a minor.

Heather M. Banks, 23, of Rosiclare, Illinois, pleaded guilty on Friday in Federal Court to having used the internet on June 18, 2012, to induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual acts.

Banks was using the internet to induce a minor to provide her with prescription medications in exchange for sex, according to the state's attorney's office.

Banks is scheduled to be sentenced on December 20, 2012.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Hardin County State's Attorney's Office.
