5th escaped Pike County Jail inmate captured in St. Louis County

PIKE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The fifth and final inmate who escaped the Pike County Jail was captured Tuesday night.

According to the Pike County Sheriff's Office, John Thomas Wilkerson, Jr., 40, of Florissant, Mo. was captured at around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in St. Louis County.  

Police reportedly responded to a report of a suspicious person at an apartment complex.  When they arrived, Wilkerson allegedly led officers on a short foot chase before being taken into custody.

Wilkerson and four other inmates escaped the Pike County jail on Sunday. Three of the escapees were captured in Oklahoma on Monday, while another was found along a country road in Pike County.
