CAIRO, IL (KFVS) -

Fire crews battle a massive structure fire in Cairo overnight Friday into Saturday morning.

Cairo, Mounds and Mound City fire crews were called to the scene of the old King Tut's tavern at the corner of Eighth and Ohio Streets around 3 a.m.

Witnesses say the north wall of the several-storey brick building collapsed as firefighters tried to control the flames.

State Fire Marshal Milly Santiago says the fire destroyed three structures. Santiago says the extent of the fire damage has made it difficult for investigators to get inside.

Investigators are examining if a possible lightning strike could be a cause since heavy storms were in the area when the fire started. However, they are not ruling out an intentional cause.

There's no word on what caused the blaze, and no word on any injuries.

A late night fire also ripped through a building in Tamms.

The fire broke out in a building located on south Second Street.
