FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KFVS) -

A big crowd gathered Friday to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

People in Fredericktown and members of the Road Riders for Jesus gathered on the lawn of the Madison County courthouse.

They've held an event in remembrance of 9/11 since 2001.

They gathered earlier this year so the more than 100 motorcyclists who are in town from all over the country, could attend.

"You'll find motorcyclist and people like the Road Riders are very patriotic, still believe God has a voice in our land," said Bob Thebeau, Road Riders for Jesus.

"we don't want to forget what happened on 9/11," said Patty Yount, event organizer. " This is a small portion to remember those people."

They plan to hold a similar event next year.

Saturday, the road riders will host a motorcycle show from noon to three at the Country Mart in Fredericktown.
