PIEDMONT, MO (KFVS) -

New jobs for Piedmont mean new life for an old building.

What was Brown's Shoe and later Nudell Manufacturing will become Taylor Made Industries.

"It's a dream," said Sheryl Taylor. "I've had this in my head for years."

Gaylen and Sheryl Taylor feel they are an example of the American Dream. They have unique experience in all different kinds of business from trucking to sewing. The husband and wife team bought the 138,000 square foot building with big plans in mind.

"I've dreamed of owning this building since I was a little girl," said Sheryl. "We just can't wait for it to take off."

Sheryl says she and Gaylen want to put their own stamp on Piedmont with Taylor Made.

"I have a biz mind, it just goes 100 miles an hour," said Sheryl.

They bought Nudell manufacturing and all leftover inventory. But that's just a piece of the puzzle.

"It's a whole hodge podge and that's cool," said Sheryl. "There's something here for everybody."

The couple has been buying up all kinds of inventory from multiple closing businesses. That includes things like silk flowers and framers, as well as production equipment. Eventually they plan to manufacture everything from coats to dolls. The dolls will be called Taylor Tots and a percentage of the sales will go to children's charities. As for the location, they'll have a store on site and ship the rest far and wide.

"Let's make Taylor Made the pride of Piedmont," said Sheryl. "That's the goal."

Taylor hopes to have 75 employees and plans to open in January. They start taking applications in December.

"Oh there's excitement," said Teresa Poston. Poston was once employed at Nudell. She'll now work at Taylor Made. "For me this will keep me close to home. I was scared I was going to have to move. There's no jobs close by."

Other's like Linda Cambron agree.

"It means I get to stay with my kids," said Cambron. "Jobs are hard to find! And this is a job I'm excited about!"

Taylor feels this is all a blessing and she wants to give back. She has a heart for children's charities and community needs

"We are excited we have so much to offer this town," said Sheryl.
