2 from Puxico face marijuana related charges

PUXICO, MO (KFVS) -

A Puxico couple are facing charges in connection to a authorities finding a marijuana growing operation in their backyard, according to Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner.

Darrell Buttry, 51, was charged late last week with production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

His wife Laura Buttry, 33, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

All are felony charges.

Hefner says the marijuana plants were found growing in the Buttry's backyard.

Five children living in the home were taken into protective custody by DFS, according to the sheriff.

Darrell Buttry was taken to the Stoddard County Jail on $25,000 cash only bond. Laura Buttry was also taken to the jail on $10,000 cash only bond.
