Small earthquake reported near Portageville, Mo.

PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

Did you feel it? The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a small earthquake occurred Monday morning near Portageville, Missouri.

It happened around 7:12 a.m.

The quake measured 2.6 on the Richter Scale and was centered 6 miles east-northeast of Portageville.

No word on if the small quake caused any damage.

According to the USGS, the New Madrid Seismic Zone is the most seismically active in North America east of the Rocky Mountains.
