Police seek suspects in painting thefts

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Police are looking for suspects after several paintings were reported stolen.

Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Jason Selzer, the thefts happened at 20 North Main Street sometime between July 25 and July 26, 2012.

Police say the reporting party David Soto gave them the surveillance video.

Soto told police the suspects entered the apartment building with a key and then stole the paintings from the foyer of the building.

Police say the paintings are estimated to be worth $500 each. 

Investigators say they do not know how the suspects got a key to the building.
