Apps to help parents of teen drivers

(KFVS) -

For high school teens, the new school year can mean more time in the car, driving to class or getting to those after school jobs.

But with distracted driving, there's now some new apps for parents to keep a closer eye on adolescent drivers.

The Drive Safe.ly app reads texts and emails out loud in real time and allows drivers to respond without touching the phone, eliminating that urge to take one's hands off of the wheel.

The Teen Agree app uses GPS to let parents keep tabs on where their kids are driving and how fast they are going. It allows you to track multiple young drivers in a family.

The Key to Safe Driving app works with hardware installed in a vehicle to block text messages and phone calls entirely, while your child is behind the wheel.
