Sheriff: Talk to your children about what to do if approached by stranger

PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Pemiscot County sheriff is asking parents to have a talk with their children about what to do if approached by strangers.

Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says to talk with your children about what to do if approached or asked to get into a vehicle of someone the children do not know.

The sheriff says if your children come into contact with someone they don't know, to tell them not to talk to the stranger and then go tell someone they trust and know.

Sheriff Greenwell says if anyone sees any unusual people or vehicles in the school areas, to contact the sheriff's office or local law enforcement.

The sheriff is also asking drivers in Pemiscot County to be cautious in school zones to avoid accidents.
