SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Crews were battling a mile long grass fire Sunday afternoon near Blodgett in Scott County, Missouri.

"We got a report of a grass fire on both sides of County Road 402 approximately about a mile long," Captain Tony Graham, Scott County Rural Fire Protection District, said.

Graham says it is about 60 to 70-percent contained, and the main concern now is hot spots.

"We have a big commercial structure building on the west side of the grass fire now," Graham said. "If we don't keep it contained, it could spread over to be a big structure fire."

Graham says he doesn't know what caused the fire. He said it could be anything at this point.
