Diverging Diamond Interchange to open soon in St. Francois County, Mo.

FARMINGTON, MO (KFVS) -

A new diverging diamond interchange will soon be open to traffic in St. Francois County, Missouri.

To prepare for the opening, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route 221 at the Route 67 overpass at 7 a.m. on September 4. The road will reopen at 9 a.m. September 5.

The interchange is located in Farmington, Missouri.

MoDOT says U-turns are prohibited while work is underway. And, all drivers are being asked to use the marked detours.

Full completion of the interchange is expected for Fall 2012.
