Move in day at Southeast doesn't end quietly

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The first day for some students at Southeast Missouri State did not end quietly.

One residence tower had to be evacuated.

Fire crews were called to Towers North around 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to Cape Girardeau Police, it seems that someone burnt some macaroni and cheese causing alarms to go off.

Crews were still on hand around 9 p.m. clearing out smoke and resetting alarms.

The evacuation of the building was normal procedure, according to police.
