Lightning strike starts field fire in Millersville, Mo.

MILLERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

It was a scary moment Thursday afternoon for the people who live on state Highway B in Millersville, Missouri.

Neighbors say lightning struck a field in two places, starting two fires.

They say they're thankful people helped quickly put out the fires so they didn't spread to nearby houses.

Breanna Elliot said she saw the lightning and warned her family.

"It looked like it was a ball...whenever it hit the ground, it was yellow, and green and blue," said Elliot.
